Player Selection Policy

Team selection shall be the sole responsibility of the Cricket Sub-committee. The Sub-committee shall meet generally on the Wednesday preceding match days of the league season (selection for mid-week cup matches shall continue on an ad hoc basis).

The Cricket Sub-committee may only select league and cup teams from those players who have paid the annual subscription in full.

Players will be required to play for the team for which they have been selected.

Teams will be selected on the basis of ability in accordance with the Club’s Equity Policy and with the emphasis of providing a balanced team.

Young players will be encouraged throughout the Club and it shall be the policy of the Sub-Committee to select as young players as is reasonably possible in each side, whilst bearing in mind the goals of each team.

Players may make representations to the Cricket Sub-committee at any time through any of the team captains or other members of the Sub-committee.
